High comorbidity levels were reported by the cohort (psychosocial problems, 61.1%; depression, 54.1%; substance misuse, 40.7%). UHR clients experienced similar psychosis transition rates to the reference group (17.3% vs. 14.6%; 8.9% vs. 9.1% within 2-years) and comparable rates of subsequent non-psychosis outcomes. A 25.9% conversion rate from early psychosis to schizophrenia was detected. However, among transitioning individuals, UHR clients faired relatively better, particularly with respect to changes in comorbidity and mental health contacts. Interventions tailored to current problems, recovery and psychological strengthening may be more appropriate than those based on estimated psychosis risk, which currently lacks clinical utility.]]> Wed 04 Sep 2019 10:05:29 AEST ]]> The influence of contact with mental health services on carers’ help-seeking attitudes: contribution of stigma and affective state https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:45680 Wed 02 Nov 2022 16:13:12 AEDT ]]> The short- to medium-term predictive validity of static and dynamic risk-of-violence measures in medium- to low-secure forensic and civil inpatients https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:34296 Tue 26 Feb 2019 14:15:42 AEDT ]]> Differential treatment effects of an integrated motivational interviewing and exercise intervention on depressive symptom profiles and associated factors: a randomised controlled cross-over trial among youth with major depression https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36469 Tue 19 May 2020 09:24:47 AEST ]]> Engaging youth with major depression in an exercise intervention with motivational interviewing https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36468 Tue 19 May 2020 09:24:42 AEST ]]> Predictors of non-suicidal self-injury cessation in adults who self-injured during adolescence https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:39961 Tue 19 Jul 2022 08:46:35 AEST ]]> Evaluating the efficacy of an integrated motivational interviewing and multi-modal exercise intervention for youth with major depression: Healthy Body, Healthy Mind randomised controlled trial protocol https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:44202 Tue 06 Jun 2023 14:36:21 AEST ]]> Effectiveness of clinical practice change strategies in improving dietitian care for head and neck cancer patients according to evidence based clinical guidelines: a stepped wedge randomised controlled trial https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:34984 Tue 03 Sep 2019 18:01:58 AEST ]]> Head and neck cancer patient experience of a new dietitian-delivered health behaviour intervention: 'you know you have to eat to survive' https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:35773 Thu 21 Nov 2019 12:56:59 AEDT ]]> An examination of factors associated with tobacco smoking amongst patients presenting with deliberate self-poisoning https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:38573 Thu 18 Nov 2021 12:27:27 AEDT ]]> Group cognitive behavioural therapy for stroke survivors with depression and their carers https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30146 Thu 13 Jan 2022 10:31:15 AEDT ]]> Premorbid, psychosocial and clinical predictors of the costs of schizophrenia and other psychoses https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1486 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:28:04 AEDT ]]> Costs of schizophrenia and other psychoses in urban Australia: findings from the Low Prevalence (Psychotic) Disorders Study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:1806 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:27:29 AEDT ]]> Intervention for cannabis use in young people at ultra high risk for psychosis and in early psychosis https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:10627 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:13:48 AEDT ]]> Early therapeutic alliance, treatment retention, and 12-month outcomes in a healthy lifestyles intervention for people with psychotic disorders https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30134 N = 178) participating in a healthy lifestyles study comparing a telephone versus face-to-face delivered intervention. Therapeutic alliance was assessed using the Agnew Relationship Measure; primary outcomes were treatment retention and changes in symptoms and health behaviors. Contrary to expectations, early alliance did not predict treatment retention. However, elements of both client- and therapist-rated alliance predicted some clinical outcomes (e.g., higher confidence in the therapeutic alliance at session 1 predicted improvements in 12-month depression). Some modest interactions between early alliance and intervention condition were also identified (e.g., clients initially with lower self-perceived initiative, or higher therapist-perceived bonding benefited preferentially from the telephone-delivered intervention), highlighting the need to further examine the interplay between therapeutic alliance and treatment modality.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:39:12 AEDT ]]> Changes in psychosocial well-being during stages of gay identity development https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3658 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:20:19 AEDT ]]> Outcomes of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for families presenting with child maltreatment: A systematic review https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50815 Mon 07 Aug 2023 12:58:12 AEST ]]> Pilot study of an exercise intervention for depressive symptoms and associated cognitive-behavioral factors in young adults with major depression https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:33350 Fri 19 Oct 2018 12:56:50 AEDT ]]> Utilizing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy with Trauma-Directed Interaction in a Young Male in Out of Home Care Who Had Experienced Trauma https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:52972 Fri 03 Nov 2023 15:32:02 AEDT ]]>
